Join us on Enniscrone Beach this August for a tension releasing and soul soothing beach yoga session.   This yoga practice is designed specifically for the outdoors, guiding you on how to use the elements of nature to bring a sense of peace and calm into your being.  Filled with this calm confidence we take ourselves onto Stand Up Padddle, SUP, boards under the expert guidance of Harbour SUP instructors and do some exploring of the West Sligo coastline.  No previous SUP or Yoga experience required.  Whether you are brand new to SUP or have tried a few times and feel like you might need a new approach, this special yoga-SUP combination is perfect for you. Using your own Yoga-Mat is recommended but spares available on request. All SUP equipment is provided. Same comfortable clothing can be worn for both Yoga and SUP excursion.  Yoga with Blaithin, Your Wellbeing Warrior and SUP Lesson with Mikee of Harbour SUP

How does yoga enhance an adventure experience?
When you start your SUP session with beach yoga it provides the opportunity for three things to happen.
Physically the yoga practice brings mobility into your body by releasing tension from muscles. It also safely activates muscle groups so that there is greater internal connection throughout the body, this translates into agility on the water.
Mentally the mindful breath-work brings your nervous system out of sympathetic mode, typically referred to as ‘fight or flight’, and into parasympathetic mode often referred to as ‘rest and digest’.  When you’re feeling nervousness then you will typically be in sympathetic mode.  If you’re lucky it may just feel like giddiness but it will also make it hard to concentrate and to take instruction. In worst case scenario excessive sympathetic nervousness may make you want to quit or run away.  Calming the nervous system into parasympathetic mode allows you to feel at ease in yourself and able to understand and follow instruction.
Emotionally, there are many benefits to pausing and taking time on the beach before getting into the water. You will see most water-people watching, listening and observing the ocean before getting in.  Breathing deep and finding presence in yourself enhances the experience whether a first timer or an old pro

You can book yourself in now with deposit or pay in full. For any further inquiries e-mail Blaithin at info@yourwellbeingwarrior.com.
